Multiple Shopify Store Data Ingestion
If you have multiple Shopify stores housing your data (Orders, Customers, Products), follow the below steps to complete your data ingestion integration with Garmentier.
Note: The Shopify app will not be the primary source of your data ingestion, our S3 Data Ingestion feature will. The steps below will use our S3 Data Ingestion feature to sync the data for your other Shopify stores.
Steps:
Complete Data Validation Test: Before we run your S3 Data Ingestions into our platform, we’ll do a “Data Validation Check” to ensure your data imports seamlessly. This means checking that your exports have clean data and formatting.
Begin by referencing the Data Definitions & Requirements doc, then use our data templates (all linked for download below)to export files from all data sources you'd like to include.
Please ensure that the mandatory format & data requirements listed are met, including required fields as well as file names - otherwise, the Data Validation Tests will require a few attempts to ensure the right formatting on your end. We’ll work with you to help you identify and correct any errors swiftly!
Download the data templates below:
Important Things to Note:
CSV format is required for all files
Column Orders must be in the same order as in the template
File names are important: The Inventory CSV file name must start with Inventory_; and the Order History CSV file name must start with Order_History, If these specific terms are not at the beginning of each file name, the files will be ignored.
Examples of proper CSV file names: order_history_UK_orders_4/12/22 ; inventory_NYCstore_05/09/22
All required fields must be in the data export
Headers and column orders must be the exact same as the template
2. Garmentier will provide S3 credentials for you via email: Once the Data Validation Check has been successfully completed, we’re ready to ingest your data! We will provide you with S3 Credentials including: Nickname, Server, Access Key ID, Secret Access Key, and Path.
3. Set up the Data Exports to go to our S3 address: Follow the S3 Data Export Instructions (below) using one of our recommended data export tools (CyberDuck, Funnel) to set up file transfers to Garmentier's S3 address.
Using Funnel: Follow Funnel's S3 instructions by clicking below:
Once CyberDuck has been downloaded:
Click “Action” and select “New Bookmark” in the CyberDuck dropdown
Select “Amazon S3” in the dropdown at the top
Enter the credentials provided by Garmentier. Close window - folder will save automatically!
You can now download/upload files to the Garmentier folder. To upload files, double click on the “Garmentier” folder and either drag and drop or upload your file(s)
Note: you will not be able to delete a file after you have uploaded it!
Estimated Customer Setup Time: 2 hours, non-technical possible, may need to write a code script for recurring data exports.
